Mr. Devidas talked on the general pros & cons of the latest budget. He is a very erudite and no non-sense person. He talked about some of the finer aspects of the taxes and their impact on the common man in his typical sarcastic Style. He felt that Indians were overtaxed and advocated simplification of the tax process. He wanted people to file objections with the relevant authorities for unjust taxes. He was unhappy with the service taxes on commercial properties (There is no service involved in leasing out commercial property) and increase in dividend tax ( Corporates are as it is burdened with the bulk of the taxes ).
