District Governor's Visit 26-12-09:
The District Governors visit commenced with a quite breakfast meeting at the Presidents Chandrasekhar’s residence. The DG C Suresh, AG Sita, the President of the Club, Secretary Rtn Joseph George and incoming President discussed at the length the progress of the club during the year in each of the Key Result area identified at the beginning of the year. The DG was pleased to note that the Club was on Course to achieve the Montreal Challenge Objectives in all the four Avenues of Service. Subsequently the District Governor listened and evaluated the Reports of all the Directors and Chairmen at Chandra Board Room. He gave valuable suggestions for improvements.
Visit to Social Service Project at Govt School Bolarum.
The District Governor, the Assistant Governor and the Club members visited the school at Bolarum and was pleased to note the significant development done at the school to include the distribution of Benches, Uniforms and Books to the students of the School. The district Governor appreciated the Water Project for the toilets of the School and the Play equipment provided for the recreation of the students. The DG C Suresh was pleased with all the efforts put in by the club and interacted in an animated discussion with the tiny tots and presided on the cultural program given by the student. Following the program the District staff joined the Club members for a sumptuous meal at Little Italy.
Charter Night at Basil’s Banquet Hall
The Charter Night was celebrated with much gaity at the Banquet Hall of the Basil’s Leaf Restaurant. The Meeting with the cutting of the Cake by all the Past Presidents and the felicitation of all the past Presidents by Rtn Chadrasekhar and a brief Presentation of the activities conducted during each of their tenures was the highlight of the evening. The report of the half year was presented by the Secy Rtn Joseph George followed by the address by the Assistant Governor Sita and the District Governor C Suresh. AG Sita mentioned that the average age of Sunrise is forty and they are surely naughty, this Club really know to combine work with pleasure, they conduct serious business in the most professional manner at the same time the enjoy what they do. The District Governor commended the professional approach of the club and said that the club is well within course to achieve all the objectives spelled out at the beginning of the year and he congratulated all members for the excellent performance of the Club. The meeting was followed by sweating out on the dance floor and a delicious dinner.
