The Rotary club of Secunderabad Sunrise. in all its earnestness took up the task of involving the youth in service activities by working towards formation of youth clubs like Rotaract and Interact.
As per the laid down guidelines of Rotary International for formation of an Interact Club (for the age group of 14-18 years), Rotarian KRP SARATHY (Director Youth Services International Relations )short listed several schools but eventually ST.ANDREWS HIGHSCHOOL,BOWENPALLY
was identified as potentially ideal for housing an Interact Club.
Rtn.KRP Sarathy along with our the then President Rtn.Lokesh Jain and Past President Rtn.Vaman Rao sought an appointment and visited the school to meet the Head Mistress Mrs.SANDHY A RAGHA V and Founder, Director and Board Member of the school Mrs.BERNIE JOSEPH.They sought a detailed history of our Rotary activities and also guidelines for formation of Interact Club along with the details of the role the school has to play to keep the club active. They appreciated the community service activities of our club and evinced keen interest in formation of Interact Club in their school.
Thus the continued and untiring efforts of Rtn.KRP Sarathy, under the guidance of Present Asst.Govemor Rtn.P.Vaman Rao and GSR/Past President of RC of Secunderabad Rtn.C.Suresh. bore fruit eventually and the Interact Charter from The ROTARY INTERNATIONAL was received. It was handed over to StAndrews High School by the DITRICT GOVERNOR ELECT RTN.SAMABASIVA RAO in a formal and impressive INSTALLATION function organized in the school premises ON 20TH OCT 2005.RTN.Pallavi Madhira, the INTERACT CHAIR was also present on this occasion.
The following will be the office bearers of the Interact Club of ST .ANDREWS HIGH SCHOOL,BOWENPALL Y for the year 2005-2006, which has a initial membership of 25 members and is likely to grow further.
