SPEAKER : DR RUKMANI MOHANTA of the School of Physics, University of Hyderabad

Dr Rukmani Mohanta is a Ph.D in Physics and has specialised in high energy physics or particle physics which is that branch of physics that studies subatomic particles and their interactions. As a part of her research work she has also been associated with the projects devoted to identifying the Higgs – Boson particle. Apart from her many achievements she has been awarded the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) prize. These awards are sponsored by the Elsevier Foundation and TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world for their excellence in research. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad thought it fit to congratulate this achievement in his personal blog the meeting was very interasting and speaker has explained the subject very clearly to be understood by everyone.
